Aerobic exercises increase your heart rate and the amount of oxygen (O2) that goes to your muscles. The more O2 your muscles receive, the longer they can work. You might also want to consider yoga and tai chi. These low impact exercises increase strength and flexibility. Joining a class gets you out of the house and into the company of other people. You just might find the classes a lot of fun.
